Internet Explorer

ezProxy must have a Http proxy service. In IE, select "Tools" - " Internet Options"- "Connections" - "LAN Settings" - "Use Proxy Server", Set the address to ezProxy's IP address, and set the port parameters to number used by Http proxy service.
Note: Enable the option "Use the same proxy server to all protocols".

Firefox

ezProxy must has a Http proxy service. Under menu "Tools" - "Options" -"Advanced" -"Network" - "Connection Settings". Select "Manual Configuration", put " Http" proxy server to ezProxy's IP, set the port to the number used by Http proxy service.

Outlook Express

ezProxy must has POP3 and SMTP proxy service.

Receive mails:
Set the "Incoming Mail" server to ezProxy's IP address. In the "POP3 Account" field, enter the user name given to you by your POP server and your POP server's host name. Use this format: account name # pop3 server address. For example: myaccount#pop3.myemail.com.

Send mails:
Set the "Outgoing Mail" server to ezProxy's IP address. Enable "Smtp server require authentication" option, then set "Login Username" in following format.

If your smtp server does not require "Smtp Authentication", you should set the "Login Username" as "#smtp server address", example "#smtp.myemail.com".
If your smtp server also needs "Smtp Authentication", you should set the "Login Username" as "login name#smtp server address". For example: myaccount#smtp.myemail.com.

CuteFtp

ezProxy must have a FTP proxy server. In CuteFtp, select "Setting" -"Options" - "Firewall", set "host" IP address to ezProxy's IP address, set "port" to the number used by FTP proxy service, then select "user@site" mode for proxying.

News Agent

ezProxy must have a NNTP proxy service first. In "Agent", goto "Options"- "User and System Profiles".
In the "User" tab, enable "Login with username & password", if your news server does not need authentication, such as "msnews.microsoft.com", set the "username" like "#msnews.microsoft.com"; if your news server already enables authenticaion, such as "members.asp.org", set the "username" like "youraccount#members.asp.org".
In "System" tab, set the "News Server" to ezProxy's IP address.

ICQ

ezProxy must have a SOCKS proxy service. In ICQ, select "Connection" -"Permanent Internet Connection (LAN)" - "Behind a Firewall or Proxy" -"Firewall Settings" - "SOCKS5 ProxyServer". Set the address to the IP address of computer running ezProxy. Set the port to the listening port defined by the SOCKS proxy service. You don't always need to check "use proxy to resolve hostname".

Yahoo Messenger

ezProxy must have a SOCKS proxy service. There must either be a DNS server running on the proxy server OR you must check "Enable DNS" in the DNS menu option of ezProxy. In Messenger menu "Login"- "Preference"- "Connection", select "Uses Proxy" option, then choose SOCKS ver5 proxy connection. Set the proxy server to ezProxy's IP address, set the port to the number used in SOCKS proxy.
As Yahoo Messenger using special tunnel to multimedia data, you can not enjoy "Voice Chat" behide proxy. You could try SocksCap to socksfy the Messenger.
Notes: The clients DNS server setting must point to the computer running ezProxy, or pointing to a valid DNS server which can resolve host name. You can find the DNS server settings in your TCP/IP protocol properties in the Network properties.

MSN Messenger

ezProxy must have a SOCKS proxy service. In MSN Messenger, "Tools"- "Options"- "Connection", select SOCKSv5 proxy type. Set the address to the IP address of computer running ezProxy. Set the port to the listen port defined in SOCKS proxy service.
As MSN Messenger using special tunnel to transfer files and multimedia data, you can not enjoy "File Transfer" and "Voice Chat" behide proxy. You could try SocksCap to socksfy the Messenger.

mIRC

ezProxy must have a SOCKS proxy service. In mirChat, goto "Options" -"Connect" - "Firewall", select "SOCKS5" protocol, set the "Hostname" to ezProxy's IP address. Set the "Port" to the listening port in SOCKS proxy service.

RealPlayer

ezProxy must have a PNA or RTSP proxy service. In RealPlayer or RealG2, goto "Preferences"- "Proxy"- "Use PNA proxy" or "Use RTSP proxy". Set the server to ezProxy's IP address. Set port to the PNA/RTSP proxy service listening port.

QuickTime

ezProxy must have a RTSP proxy service. In QuickTime, goto "Edit"- "Preferences"- "QuickTime Settings"- "Streaming Proxy". Choose "RTSP Proxy", set the server to ezProxy's IP address. Set port to the RTSP proxy service listening port.

Games, None proxy support softwares

If the software does not support proxy, you are suggested to use SocksCap to socksfied those application so as to force them transfering data on SOCKS proxy protocol. For SocksCap's information, please visit http://www.socks.nec.com

ezProxy must have a SOCKS proxy service and should enable DNS server in ezProxy

Install SOCKSCAP in client computer, set socks proxy server location and port, then create IE in sockscap control pane. At last, click the icon of IE showed in sockscap control window.
To make IE work with SOCKSCAP, you should NOT enable proxy feature in IE's lan setting.

AOL

1. ezProxy must have a SOCKS proxy service.
2. In AOL "Sign On" screen, click "Setup" button. Then choose "Expert Setup".
3. In "Connection Setup"--"Locations", click "Add Location" button.
4. In "Add Location" dialog, set a new name and must select "TCP/IP: LAN or ISP" under "Selection a connection using one available devices". click "Next step".
5. In "Add number" dialog, select "Manual proxy configuration"
6. In "Manual Configuration" dialog, enable "connect using proxy" and select "SOCK5" proxy protocol. Set the host to the IP address of computer running ezProxy. Set the port to the listening port defined by the SOCKS proxy service. Enable "Use proxy to resolve hostnames".
7. After the setting, you will find a new location in the location list. Set this as the default location.
8. When you sign on AOL , please use this location to connect aol network.

The setting is used for AOL 8.0.

AOL Instant Messenger

ezProxy must have a SOCKS proxy service. In AIM "Connection Preference", select SOCKS5 proxy protocol. Set the host to the IP address of computer running ezProxy. Set the port to the listening port defined by the SOCKS proxy service.

PC AnyWhere

I. PC Anywhere clients through ezProxy to a host on the Internet

1. Log in to ezProxy
2. Add new "TCP Mapping Service"
3. Enter 5631 in the on port field in "General" page
4. Select your local IP address for listening. example 192.168.0.1
5. Click "mapping" page, enter the domain name or address of the remote PC Anywhere host in the Host field
6. 8. Enter 5631 in the on port field
7. Add "UDP Mapping Service"
8. Enter 5632 in the on port field in "General" page
9. Select your local IP address for listening. example 192.168.0.1
10. Click "mapping" page, enter the domain name or address of the remote PC Anywhere host in the Host field
11. Enter 5632 in the on port field

II PC Anywhere clients connecting to an internal host behind ezProxy

1. Log in to ezProxy
2. Add new "TCP Mapping Service"
3. Enter 5631 in the connections on port field in "General" page
4. Select "0.0.0.0" as the listen ip address
5. Click "mapping" page, enter the IP address of internal PC Anywhere host in the Host field
6. Enter 5631 in the on port field
7. Add "UDP Mapping Service"
8. Enter 5632 in the on port field in "General" page
9. Select "0.0.0.0" as the listening ip adress
10. Click "mapping" page, enter ip address of the inner PC Anywhere host in the Host field
11. Enter 5632 in the on port field

Command Line Ftp

The command line FTP program also requires an FTP proxy service. Please use "USER user@site" command to replace your original "USER" command.

For Example:
FTP> open ezProxy's IP address
Connected to ezProxy
User ((none)): anonymous@ftpserver.com
331 Password required for anonymous
Password: XXXXXXX

FrontPage

ezProxy should have a FTP proxy service.

Then in the menu of Internet Explorer's "Internet Options" - "Connection". Enable "Use proxy server to connect", click "Advanced" button.

In the FTP and Port fields, specify the protocol, the FTP server location, and the port number, for example:
ftp://ezproxy's ip port=21

Then in FrontPage, using FTP method to upload file.

Media Player

ezProxy should have a MMS proxy service.

Then in the menu of "Tools" - "Options"- "Network". Enable "MMS Proxy", set ezProxy address as the mms proxy address and 1755 as the port. If you still failed to download the media, remove "UDP" check in "Network" page and try again.

SocksCap

Sockscap is a tool which can make software passing through socks proxy by packet encapsulation . So it could help some softwares working behind proxy.

First, you should install Sockscap on client computer, then in the menu of "Setting", set proxy address and port, choose sockv5 protocol version and "resolve name remotely" option. At last, insert your software into SockScap control window. When you start the software within the SocksCap window, all the data packet will be captured and encapsulated by SocksCap.

XP Remote Assistance

computer_B invites computer_A offering remote assistance.

1. In proxy, add TcpMapping at port 3389, mapping computer_B's Ip and port 3389
2. When computer_A get the "request for remote assistance invitation" email, save the email attachment "xxxx.MsRcIncident" to hard disk.
3. Using "wordpad" to open the attachment file. That is a plain XML file in unicode.
4. Find the tag "RCTICKET=", you can find computerB's IP address, replace it with proxy's IP address, then save the file after modification.
5. Double click the file, then you can offer remote assistance to computerB.

If the TcpMapping on port 3389 starting failed in proxy, goto "Admistration Tools" -- "Services" -- "Terminal Services", stop and disable this service.

XP Remote Desktop

computer_A wants to access the remote desktop of computer_B.

1. In proxy, add TcpMapping at port 3389, mapping computer_B's Ip and port 3389
2. When run "Remote Desktop Connection" in computer_A, enter proxy IP address instead of computer_B's IP addresss.

If the TcpMapping on port 3389 starting failed in proxy, goto "Admistration Tools" -- "Services" -- "Terminal Services", stop and disable this service.
